When federal food benefits were cut, which 23,000-plus people in Birmingham, AL, rely on, Sofia Nunez worked to build a garden.

Baratunde Thurston sat down with Sofia to hear how she partnered with a local food ministry in West Birmingham’s Wylam neighborhood to grow fresh produce and give it away for free.
