Institute for Citizens & Scholars’ Campus Call for Free Expression, a flagship project of College Presidents for Civic Preparedness, is a commitment by a diverse group of college presidents to recenter critical inquiry and civic discourse on their campuses.
Two presidents participating in Campus Call, DePauw University President Lori S. White, and James Madison University President Jonathan Alger, joined Institute for Citizens & Scholars President Raj Vinnakota for a discussion hosted by Frederick M. Hess, Director of Education Policy Studies at the American Enterprise Institute. Their wide-ranging conversation touched on free speech, ways to equip students with civic skills and how to prepare faculty to facilitate deliberative debate in their classrooms.
