Anthony Akator, Jr., believes that those most affected by policies should have a voice in shaping them.
As a founding member of our Youth Advisory Council, Anthony helped write its bylaws and shape its mission. In 2023, as a Youth Civic Impact Fellow, he worked to increase voter participation in Pima County, AZ. Now, he’s helping other young people turn their ideas into action as Carnegie Young Leaders coach.
He’s passionate about creating spaces where young people and older adults can have real conversations—ones that matter to everyone at the table. Hear Anthony reflect on his experience at a C&S Board of Trustees meeting.
“History belongs to those who dare to believe in themselves and their communities.”
By 2029, C&S will bring together 20 million young people like Anthony to step up as civic problem-solvers.
